This is where many people get stuck downloading TikTok videos on iPhone. Because of how iOS manages file-access permissions, only Safari is allowed to save downloaded files straight into Apple's Files app. Chrome and other browsers on iPhone actually run on the same Safari engine but are limited at the file-download step, so the video often ends up nowhere.
So the first and most important step is to open ClipTool in Safari. If you happened to open it in Chrome and tapping download does nothing, that is not the tool's fault — just copy the link again, open Safari, paste it, and it will download fine.
After downloading through Safari, the video does not go straight into the Photos app — it sits in the Files app, in the Downloads folder. Many people stop here and assume the download failed, when in fact the file is safely on the phone. This is just how iOS separates the file area from the photo library.
To view and share it more easily, open the Files app, find the video you just downloaded, press and hold it, then choose Save Video — the clip moves into your Camera Roll and shows in the Photos app like a normal video. On newer iOS versions you can also tap Share right after downloading and choose Save to Photos to skip the intermediate step.
The whole process applies identically to iPad, iPad Pro, iPad Air or iPad Mini running iPadOS 15 or later — still open Safari, paste the link, download, then save to Photos. You do not need a jailbreak, a complicated Siri Shortcut, or any third-party app, which are older and far less safe approaches.
If you hit a blank page when opening the tool, check three things: you are using Safari rather than another browser, the TikTok link has no stray spaces when pasted, and try clearing your browsing history in Safari's settings. Once those are cleaned up, the page loads normally.
Safari is the only iOS browser fully integrated with Apple's Files system. Chrome on iPhone cannot download video files directly — files won't appear in the Files app.
